KINGSTON, Jamaica — The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) has announced that several health centres across Kingston, St Andrew, St Catherine, and St Thomas have resumed operations following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
In the Kingston and St Andrew area, reopened facilities include the Denham Town, Harbour View, Windward Road, Maxfield Park, Slipe Pen Road Comprehensive, East Queen Street Dental, and several other community health centres.
In St Catherine, key locations such as Greater Portmore, Linstead, Old Harbour, Central Village, and St Jago Park have also reopened their doors to serve residents.
Meanwhile, in St Thomas, the Morant Bay, Seaforth, Port Morant, and Llandewey Health Centres are now open to the public.
These facilities will operate between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.
SERHA further confirmed that full services have been restored at five major hospitals — the Kingston Public Hospital, National Chest Hospital, Hope Institute, Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre, and Princess Margaret Hospital.
Other hospitals across the island remain open but continue to function in emergency mode, focusing on critical and life-saving care as recovery efforts continue.
