Trump’s Second Term Sparks Controversy with Executive Orders and Legal Battles
With Donald Trump securing a second term as president, political tensions have escalated. Among his many actions, he has signed numerous executive orders aligning with his MAGA agenda, some of which have sparked intense legal disputes.
Elon Musk, leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is urging the GOP-led Congress to initiate a “wave of impeachments” against federal judges after a D.C. court ordered the Trump administration to restore health data that had been removed from government websites.
Musk took to his platform, X, to address concerns over U.S. District Judge John Bates, who issued a temporary order mandating the restoration of removed online data from U.S. health agencies.
“There needs to be an immediate wave of judicial impeachments, not just one,” Musk stated.

Judge Bates’ ruling followed an executive order from President Trump prohibiting government endorsement of “gender ideology.” The court sided with Doctors for America (DFA), who argued that the removal of data violated the law. Trump criticized the judiciary for obstructing his policy measures, raising concerns about whether his administration would comply with court rulings, according to Reuters.
A key legal debate centered on whether DOGE and its personnel had the authority to access sensitive personal data of millions of Americans. Judge Bates determined that for DOGE to have such authority, it must be legally recognized as an official federal agency.
Ultimately, the judge ruled that DOGE meets the criteria for federal agency status and therefore retains access to records from at least three major agencies: the Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Musk celebrated this decision with a post on X, referring to it as a “victory.”
Trump later reassured reporters that while he would comply with the court rulings, he intended to appeal those that hinder his administration’s plans, including Musk’s initiatives to eliminate wasteful government spending.
“We want to root out corruption, and it’s hard to believe a judge would oppose that,” Trump remarked. “Maybe we need to take a closer look at the judiciary.”
Further expressing his frustration, Trump posted on Truth Social: “DOGE has uncovered massive FRAUD, WASTE, INCOMPETENCE, AND ABUSE. Yet, a highly political, activist judge wants us to make immediate payments anyway. In other words, pay—even though we know the request was fraudulent. DOGE caught them, but the judge doesn’t care. It makes no sense!!!”
