School Bus Driver Arrested After Alleged Assault of Student

A 73-year-old school bus driver in Lynchburg, Virginia, has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a student on board her bus.

According to authorities, the incident took place on March 30 at Linkhorne Elementary School, where police responded to reports of a “disorderly individual.” An investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Effie Wynn, allegedly attacked a student while the bus was parked on school grounds.

Officials say the student was strangled during the encounter. Despite the seriousness of the incident, the child did not suffer life-threatening injuries and is reported to be safe.

Wynn was taken into custody on April 4 and is now facing charges of strangulation and child neglect. She is currently being held as the investigation continues.
