People who claim that animals don’t experience emotions have likely never spent real time with one. Just a few moments with a pet or even a stray, and it’s clear—they have personalities, emotions, and sometimes even a bit of attitude. That’s why, when I saw how one stray dog reacted after losing its best friend in a tragic accident, I wasn’t surprised—but my heart still shattered knowing the pain this dog must have felt.

After the heartbreaking incident, a kind person arrived to help. Sadly, the injured dog didn’t survive. But what truly broke me was seeing the surviving dog refuse to leave its friend’s side until she was taken away.
