A Simple Note of Thanks

After battling a warehouse fire for over 12 hours, firefighters Paul Hullings and Tim Young stopped by Route 130 Diner for a meal. Moved by their dedication, Liz decided to cover their breakfast and left a handwritten note: 

“Your breakfast is on me today. Thank you for all that you do, for serving us and for running into the places everyone runs away from.”

This gesture deeply touched the firefighters, prompting Tim Young to share the note on Facebook, encouraging others to visit the diner and support Liz.

Upon learning that Liz was fundraising for a wheelchair-accessible van for her paralyzed father, the firefighters shared her GoFundMe campaign. The community responded overwhelmingly, raising over $86,500—far surpassing the initial $17,000 goal.

Liz expressed her gratitude, stating, “I had no idea today was going to go like this.”
